Summer Patio Must-Have for your Furry Friends

This past weekend was GOR-geous here in Southern Ontario. The sun was out, the birds were chirping and everyone and their four leggers emerged from their homes to bask in the spring splendour.

We dusted off our patio furniture and reintroduced it to our deck last weekend - only to be taken over by a certain weimaraner looking for a comfy spot to soak up the sun:

So in an attempt to reclaim the patio furniture for the two legged members of the family, I set out to my favourite pet store, Ren's Pet Depot, in search of comfy outdoor beds for the pups.

I was happy to find a huge selection of Bowser Beds made for outdoor use. I love Bowser Beds (we have the doughnut beds for each of our weims) - they are durable, washable and super comfy for our pillow-loving pups. I wish I took a picture of their selection. They had some really great fabrics and beds of all shapes & sizes - large, small, round, rectangle, thick, thin - you name it.

I picked up two of the basic mats and the pups tried them out indoors when we got home. I think they approve.

Looking forward to the next sunny Sunday..

I couldn't make this up if I tried...

I just had to share these pics of my beloved man-stuck-in-the-body-of-a-weimaraner, Buckeye. He is such a ham, it's like he sits in these poses and waits for the pictures to start snapping.

He makes me giggle. A lot. Hope he puts a smile on your face too.

Thanks for stopping by,

Best of.. Pets at Home

I'm always on the hunt for stylish pet accessories for the home. Having a pet doesn't mean you're destined for a life of unsightly pet "stuff". Here are a few products I've had my eye on lately that blend function and good design.

Food Storage Bag by Martha Stewart Pets
Hide that unsightly dog food bag with this stylish tote. It keeps up to 10 lbs fresh so it's perfect for those with smaller pups.

Bowser Food Bowls

I'm a huge fan of Bowser products, our pups love their Bowser doughnut beds. This food/water dish makes the list because of the sleek, modern design. It would be a welcome addition to any stylish pet friendly home.

Dog Bookends

These dog bookends are an adorable way to add a little four legged fun to your home.

Built-in Dog Nook

I wish I could find a spot to do this in our own home - create a built in nook for either a dog bed or crate. No matter how hard I try, the Weimaraner-sized crate in our living room never looks all that stylish!

Here's to a stylish, happy home for you and your pups!

Wordless Wednesday

For today's Wordless Wednesday, I have a new picture to share that has received a lot of attention on my personal Facebook page. Here is our weim Buckeye, trying to sit on the highest point of the couch. He's the king of that castle. :)

And another one of my old favourite shots.. enjoy!

he sure does love that chair!
 Happy Wednesday!

Pet Friendly Offices

If you could bring your pup to the office, would you?

Many organizations are becoming increasingly pet friendly and their employees are more balanced, creative and happier because of it. Imagine how great it would be if you received a nasty email that causes you to utter something under your breath, only to look down and see your pooch curled up for a cozy nap by your desk. We all know that our dogs make us more active and healthy, but they also do a world of good for our mental state. I'm all for allowing pets at the office, and am happy to see more companies embracing their four legged family members.

Here is an example of one great Toronto based company doing just that...

The benefits are vast, but include increased productivity and morale, willingness to stay late, increased comraderie among employees and decreased stress levels. Here's hoping 2012 brings more businesses that embrace a pet-friendly office!

Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! Hard to believe it's 2012 already. I'm excited about the prospects of new beginnings and making some progress on the shop front. I'm working on some fun designs for coats, collars and accessories, and hope to be sharing them in the shop soon.

Cheers to new beginnings & Happy 2012!
